A former Donegal Democrat employee has released a fabulous new single that is causing quite a stir on social media.

Ballyshannon-native, Lorraine Mc Cauley, studied piano from an early age at Kelly's school of music and Irish dance.

Her late father, Adrian Mc Cauley, was a talented musician and singer and proved to be a great source of inspiration for Lorraine from an early age.

"My late father, Adrian Mc Cauley, was a fine musician and singer and played drums and guitar in his band. From the age of 12 years I have played keyboards in his band on my school holidays bringing us all around the country to brilliant venues and pubs. A great experience for me which I thoroughly enjoyed," Lorraine said.

Last year, Lorraine obtained a music diploma from the royal Irish Academy of music, Dublin. Part of the course was to learn two new instruments. Lorraine learnt both the saxophone and guitar which she greatly enjoyed.

"The songs getting great feedback. I have been receiving messages from radio stations in Wembley London to forward on the song and my album," she said.

She is due to bring another country song out in six weeks. She is also writing her own songs and will make another album when her she finishes teaching in June. Lorraine currently teaches piano to local children.
