With the huge success of the Presents for Percy Appeals in 2011 and 2012, the Presents for Percy Appeal is back for 2013!
The Donegal County Childcare Committee (DCCC) team have launched the appeal for Christmas 2013 which aims to help local families in need of a little help with meeting Santa requests for their children at Christmas.
The ‘Presents for Percy Appeal’ aims to collect a range of toys for children 0-14 years across County Donegal in time for Christmas.
Avril McMonagle, Manager of DCCC, stated that “the Presents for Percy Appeal has been initiated by the DCCC team as a practical way of making a contribution to children and families in need of a little extra support at Christmas. We have enlisted the help of a number of family support agencies to act as distributors of donations to the Presents for Percy Appeal. Not only will this make a valuable contribution to the work of local agencies working with children and families, it will ensure that all donations are targeted to those most in need of support.”
Agencies distributing donations on behalf of the DCCC Presents for Percy Appeal will cover all areas of the county including Parentstop, Carndonagh and Letterkenny; Donegal Women’s Domestic Violence Service; St Vincent de Paul and Family Resource Centres across the county.
People can either buy presents or donate money which will be used to provide vouchers to parents to purchase toys locally. Toys purchased in Smyths, Letterkenny can be left in the store for collection or toy and money donations can be left at the Donegal County Childcare Office, Lettereknny.
