Thanks: Thanks from teachers Angela O’Callaghan and Gerry Moore in the Comprehensive School, Glenties, to all the employers in our school catchment area who provided work experience to our students. Over the past year, students from the Transition year programme as well as students in LCVP and in the Leaving Cert Applied programme have all gained really valuable experience of the world of work. In total 68 students were on work experience throughout the school year and we do appreciate all your support and feedback.
Relay for Life 2012: Thanks to all the people in the local area who supported our Transition students in the Comprehensive School, Glenties, who recently completed a 24 hour relay in the sports grounds of LYIT. The students were an absolute credit to their families and their school and raised over 2000 Euro for cancer patient care. Thanks to teachers Mary McLoughlin, Mary Martin and Gerry Moore who stayed with the students for the 24 hour period. A special word of thanks to teacher Aileen Dowling who also helped to organise this event and who is a cancer survivor herself
