Naomh Ultan lose out in close encounter with Fanad Gaels in Dunkineely

Home side Naomh Ultan dropped two points and missed a last gasp free from the outstanding Dermot Gallier to tie matters in a game of two halves in Dunkineely.

Fanad Gaels 1-9

Fanad had the breeze in the opening half and led by 1-8 to 0-4, the goal coming from young Mark McAteer with Seamie “Nanny” Friel accurate from frees with Gallier and Cian Kennedy keeping the home side barely in touch.
Naomh Ultan turned over with the breeze and also found the net through a Gallier penalty while the winners could only manage one point.
The home side pressed hard but missed some fine chances as Fanad held on for a valuable away win.
