Facile win for Kilcar against Milford in Towney

Patrick McBrearty - scored a goal before going off in second half

Milford gave Kilcar some trouble in the league last year but there was no contest this time around as Kilcar were much too strong in this reversed fixture in Towney. The big talking point was Patrick McBrearty limping out of the action in the second half.

Kilcar 3-16
Milford 1-3

McBrearty, on his second day back, hit Kilcar's first goal and hopefully his substitution was only precautionary.
Kilcar were 1-7 up when Milford got their first point fro a Kane Barrett free on 27 minutes.
The home side were dominant from the start with Patrick McBrearty putting them on their way with the opening point. Mark McHugh added a second before McBrearty found the top corner of the Milford net with a brilliant finish.
The points flowed from Stephen McBrearty (2), Matthew McClean, Ryan McHugh and a free from Patrick McBrearty.
After the Milford point, Dara O'Donnell and Matthew McClean replied before Ciaran McGinley added a second goal on the stroke of half-time to effectively close out the game with a full half to go as they led 2-9 to 0-1 at the break.
Mark McHugh started the second half scoring before Milford made a brief comeback at start of second half with a point from Luke Barrett and a goal from Kane Barrett.
But Kilcar hit back with points from Odhran Doogan and Patrick McBrearty. Darragh Black had a Milford point as Patrick McBrearty limped off for Kilcar.
Stephen McBrearty kept the scoreboard ticking and there was something rare, a goal from Conor McShane to leave Kilcar 3-13 to 1-3 ahead.
