Donegal Junior League incident in Kilmacrennan v Castlefinn game to be dealt with next week

Donegal Junior League’s disciplinary committee will deal with the ugly incident that marred the end of last Sunday’s Kilmacrennan Celtic, Castlefinn Celtic Premier Division game.

The top of the table clash, which finished goalless, in Flagpole Park, Rathmullan was marred by a number of ugly melees involving players from both sides.

Donegal Junior League secretary Jimmy Haughey said the League’s disciplinary committee would deal with the incident at their routine monthly disciplinary meeting.

“The disciplinary committee will consider the referees report and listen to the clubs stories and act accordingly,” said the secretary.

Kilmacrennan ended what was a feisty contest with eight players and Castlefin ten. Kilmacrennan’s Kieran Gorman and Daire McDaid had received their marching orders earlier in the game while Mark Friel, Kilmacrennan and Gary McNulty, Castlefinn were shown red cards just before the end of the game.

The next meeting of the disciplinary committee is next Thursday night, April 4. It has been brought forward by a week to deal with incident.
