Donegal footballers in the running for national awards
Three Donegal footballers nominated for 3/FAI International Soccer Awards in Dublin next month.
Seamus Coleman of Everton could be named Irish U-21 Player of the Year. The killybegs native goes up against Conor Clifford from Plymouth, who is on loan from Chelsea and Celtic's Anthony Stokes. Joe Coll from Meenlaragh, who is at Manchester United, is in contention for the U-16 International Player of the Year award. Coll will be vying with Mickey Drennan from Aston Villa and - Cherry Orchard's Luke Gallagher for the award.
Meanwhile, Stephen O'Donnell of Kildrum Tigers in the running for Intermediate Player of the Year along with Seamie Crowe from Athenry and Tolka Rovers' Shane Hughes.
The event will take place on Sunday February 6, at RT studios, Donnybrook, Dublin 4. RT will televise the event live on RT Two at 8pm.
Also mong the nominees are Kevin Doyle, Richard Dunne and John O'Shea, who have been nominated for the 3/FAI Senior International Player of the Year Award while Greg Cunningham, Darron Gibson and Shane Long have all been shortlisted for the 3/FAI Young Player of the Year Award.
In the Donegal Youth League last weekend, Liam O'Donnell's side collected all three points in a 2-1 away victory against Glenea United. Goalscorers were Johnny Robb, from a penalty and Micheal Doherty. They have no game this weekend due to the Donegal Youth Inter-League team's fixture against the Inishowen Youth League this Saturday.
Our U-10s had a good weekend at Boals Goals. Rovers won all four of their games and the Crusaders won three and lost one of theirs.
There are still a limited number of "Seats of Life" available for our new stand at Leck View Park. Seats are €100 and anyone interested in obtaining one can contact Dessie Kelly or and committee member. Congratulations to Honorary Club Member, Eunan "Busty" Blake who will receive the Donegal Sports Awards Hall of Fame award this Friday night in the Mount Errigal Hotel. The numbers draw in this week's lotto were 7, 9,10 and 22. Noel and Kathleen, Adam Moore, James McClean ,John Kelly and Phelim McClafferty all won €15 each.

There were no jackpot winners in the Finn Harps Super 4 Lotto draw on Tuesday 25th January. The numbers drawn were: 8, 12, 15 and 17. Next week's jackpot will be €5,100.
