Finn Harps U-17s
This evening the Finn Harps U-17 squad will step out onto the Finn Park pitch on a mission to be crowned Mark Farren Cup champions in Ballybofey (kick-off 5 p.m.)
Standing in their way is very formidable opposition in the form of Cork City. For Declan Boyle’s boys it will be the biggest match of their young careers. It is set to be a very special occasion for everyone connected with underage football at Harps.
Harps manager Declan Boyle says it is a huge occasion for Finn Harps Football Club and especially for the young players who have done so well to get this U17 team to a national decider. He has appealed to Harps supporters to come out and enjoy what will be a special evening for all involved with the club.
Those sentiments have been echoed by the Finn Harps F.C. Board who have wished the players and management well in their bid to land the Mark Farren Cup this evening. “We are very proud of what these boys have done this season both in the league where they sit second and in getting to the Mark Farren Cup Final.
The extra-time win in the semi-final against Bray Wanderers was a magnificent result. Now, with home advantage, we hope that Declan and the boys can go on and win the final this evening which they would richly deserve. Like Declan we would also appeal to supporters to come out in big numbers and give our U17 team that extra push to take the title here at Finn Park.
