10th Finn Harps Schools Programme launched

Finn Harps F.C. is about to start their 10th year delivering the Schools Programme across Donegal with a number of very special events planned to mark the anniversary during the 2018/19 season.
Schools Co-ordinator John Campbell says details on these events will be announced shortly. Dates for a number of the regular programme of activities have been confirmed.
Just before that their is a very special Finn Harps Family Academy and Schools Fun Day on Friday week the 31st of August at the Curragh in Killygordon. It is in association with the FAI with a range activities scheduled for the afternoon from 3.30 to 7.30 p.m.
All children attending the Fun Day will have free admission to the big Finn Harps League of Ireland First Division game against Galway Utd in Ballybofey on that evening.
The Finn Harps Schools 3rd & 4th Year Cup competition will be held on Tuesday 2nd Wednesday 3rd and Thursday the 4th of October. The Finn Harps Schools trip to the FAI Senior Cup Final at the beginning of November goes ahead as normal. It is available to all Schools who particulate in the Schools Programme
The 2019 Finn Harps Road Safety Competition 2019 will have it’s launch on the 8th January. Entries will close on the 24th January. Judging of the competition will take place on the 29th January. The unveiling of the winner will take place at the first home Finn Harps match next season.
The Inclusion Cup which is an event for schools with less than 35 pupils will be held on 10th April. The Fran Fields Cup is scheduled for Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th June. Mr Campbell confirmed tat the Finn Harps coaching sessions will commence in the schools from Monday week the 3rd of September. “This year our schools coaching session will carry a number of specific skills tests designed by head of our Academy Kevin McHugh and Dessie Mc Glinchey the Finn Harps head of schools coach Dessie McGlinchey.
A nutrition programme has been designed specifically for children to promote best practice for taking part in sport nutrition and generally to learn a healthier lifestyle. We will have a number of huge announcements in relation to our programme in the coming weeks we look forward to making our tenth anniversary a year to remember for all” Mr Campblell concluded.
