Young Dungloe man boxing clever

Dungloe boxer Matthew McCole

Dungloe boxer Matthew McCole is in training for the World Universities Championships which are in Russia in September.
Matthew, a student at Letterkenny IT, is from a strong boxing family in Maghery. 
He is a member of the Dungloe Boxing Club where he is coached by his father, Jim McCole. 
He is one a number of young talented boxers in Donegal and is the reigning Irish Third Level Boxing champion at 64kg, which he won back in April. 
Matthew  has been in a very rich vein of form since landing the Universities title. In June he won gold at the prestigious Harringay Box Cup in London. 
He also enjoyed success at a major Third Level Colleges tournament in Alexandra Palace, in London. 
He is a member of a three-man Irish team selected for the championships which take place in Elista,  Russia, early next month. 
Matthew has been with the Irish High Performance boxing team in Abbotstown since the start of the year. He has been training under  Irish High Performance coach Zana Anita.
