Junior Cup Result: Portsalon 2-3 Fortwilliam. The Ulster Junior Cup semi-final wasn't to be for Portsalon on Saturday evening as they lost out, narrowly, to Fortwilliam up at Castlerock. There were wins for Johnny Shields and skipper Joe Coyle, alongside defeats for Seamus Patton and Pauric Dunleavy. Ultimately the heartache for Portsalon came as Eamonn McDermott was forced to concede his match when leading 1up after nine holes having taken ill. This really was a fantastic run through Ulster for Joe Coyle and his team throughout the summer. Well played to everyone that contributed, players caddies and supporters alike, and commiserations on the narrow defeat.
Team Captain Joe wants to thank vice-captain Pat O'Neill for again being there at Castletrock on Saturday and also Ryan McGettigan who was there to support his teammates, and anyone that made the journey up.

Fred Daly lads bow out at Ulster quarter final stage. Our young guns of the club and indeed the future of our club had a tremendous run in the biggest competition available to them, the Fred Daly Trophy. These young lads, some of whom are enjoying Prom season, done not just their club proud but more importantly themselves and their parents. This being my third and final year to Captain these fine young lads who are maturing into young adults, has been an absolute pleasure to watch their game of golf develop from beginner stage to almost professional standards.
