Sean McGoldrick wins again on his seventh professional fight to remain unbeaten

Sean McGoldrick . . . wins again

Sean McGoldrick gave his home fans something to cheer as he breezed to victory over Dylan McDonagh on his first ever appearance as a professional in Wales.
The Newport, Wales native with strong Ballyshannon connections, came out on top against Dubliner Dylan McDonagh over eight rounds to retain his unbeaten record as a professional in the Ice Arena, Cardiff on Saturday night.
He has now had seven professional fights and retains the perfect 7-0.
McGoldrick: “It was a really good fight and I really enjoyed it. He was a really tough opponent but that’s what you’d expect from an unbeaten fighter. It was a proper step up for me.
“I felt I performed well. It was an improvement on my previous fights – my head movement and foot movement was better along with defence and shot selection. I’m happy with that but there are still improvements to be made. There’s still so much to work on. I feel I’m on the right track.
“The atmosphere in there was unbelievable. I’d like to thank everyone for coming out. They were really noisy, singing the whole way through the eight rounds. I’m sure there are a few sore heads this morning! I’m really grateful for it and I hope they enjoyed all the boxing. Hopefully they’ll all be back out for the September show," said McGoldrick afterwards.
