Termon are celebrating an U14 Division One League title following tonight's final victory over Sean MacCumhaill’s, in Pairc Naomh Columba,  Glenswilly.

Termon  . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4-9

Sean MacCumhaill’s . . . . 2-9

Paddy McDaid, Oisin Farrell, Oisin Harkin and Eoghan Quinn scored the goals for the winners while Oisin Harkin also kicked seven points in a masterclass in the art of scoretaking.

MacCumhaill’s, who never fully recovered from letting Termon race into an early 0-6 to 0-0 lead inside the opening 12 minutes, did make a game of it in the second half.

And while they stormed back into the game thanks to a well taken Andrew Murray goal after good approach play from Alan Martin and Lucas McSorley, Termon were the more polished and clinical outfit throughout. They  led 1-7 to 1-4 at half-time thanks to the industry and running of Paddy McDaid and Owen Browne in the middle of the field and the accuracy up front of the razor sharp McDaid.

Kevin McCormack, who ended the game with a personal tally of 0-7, kicked three of MacCumhaill’s first half points.

MacCumhaills, thanks to good performances from goal scorer Murray in midfield, Sean McMenamin and Ruairi Gallagher in defence and McCormack, upped their game in the second period.

And when half-time replacement Mark Mbuilli hit the net for the Finnsiders’ second goal, the margin was back to two points, 2-8 to 2-6.

Harkin had minutes earlier netted Termon's second goal.

But Termon's greater drive and hunger and goals from Oisin Farrell and Eoghan Quinn from the penalty spot saw the side managed jointly by Paddy McMenamin and Hugh Harkin.

The penalty was of the very soft variety as the contact was minimum with Owen Browne as he blasted wide of the target.

A straight red card to Paddy McDaid for a challenge on Kevin McCormack was the only blemish on another wise good night for the boys from the Burn Road.
