Naomh Ultan remain in the mix for Division Three honours after big win over Buncrana

Daniel Gallagher . . . impressive for Naomh Ultan

There was a bumper crowd in Dunkineely to witness a classic encounter between the home side and Buncrana.

Naomh Ultan 0-13
Buncrana 0-12

Naomh Ultan put themselves right in the mix for promotion with this narrow win and are now just a point adrift of three teams (Killybegs, Buncrana and Naomh Brid) at the top of the table.
It is a remarkable performance by the Dunkineely based club, who have been ravaged by injury in recent weeks. Apart from losing Cian Kennedy and Danny Shovlin, Alan Lyons was ruled out for the season with a cruciate injury.
There was more injury problems in this game as James Byrne had to be carried off on a stretcher and may be out for some time.
But despite all the setbacks, Naomh Ultan were up for this game and led by 0-6 to 0-2 at the break.
They were led magnificently by Dermot Gallier and Red Daniel Gallagher, who accounted for six of their points.
Naomh Ultan have five games left to play, including a clash with joint table toppers Naomh Brid.
