Glenfin added two valuable points to their tally with a fine performance against a strong Malin side in Glenfin.
Glenfin . . . . . 2-10
Malin . . . . . . . 2-6
The win, the second in-a-row, sees Glenfin join Four Masters on points and they now have the wind at their backs while the Donegal Town side have been shipping defeats.
The sides were level at the interval on a score of 1-5 each with wind assisted Malin getting a 1st minute goal from Joe McLaughlin.
Malin seemed to be edging clear with points from Joe Doherty and Brendan McLaughlin, but Paddy O’Connor levelled matters in the 20th minute for the home side, with Gerard Ward tying matters with a late point for the home side.
Glenfin were much the better side in the second half and would be a bit disappointed not to have registered more scores with all their possession in the first 20 minutes of the second half.
Karl McGlynn pushed them ahead with a fine goal and a Ciaran Brady point put them six clear with just five minutes remaining.
But a Joe McLaughlin goal for Malin made for a nervy finish before a final point from Owen Donnellan sealed matters for a vital victory for Glenfin.
