Tony McNamee . . . vital goal for Milford
Tony McNamee hit a late goal as Milford edged Dungloe in a highly competitive Division One League, in Moyle View Park earlier today.
It took McNamee’s strike to finally clinch the points against a pointless Dungloe, who turned in their best performance of the season so far.
The visitors led by a point, 1-6 to 1-5, at hal-ftime after playing with a stiff wind in the opening half four.
Barry Curran scored the goal before half-time to send the Rosses men one up at the break. Kyle Black had scored the Milford goal in the middle of the second quarter to go 1-5 to 0-5 up.
Cathal McGettigan, who hit ten of Milford’s tally, had pointed the way for the locals in the opening period.
Ryan Greene with four points and Daniel Ward, who impressed throughout, hit the Dungloe points.
Christopher Barrett and McGettigan hit the points for the locals on the resumption as they went back in front while Greene, Ryan Connors and Ward pointed for Dungloe to trim the lead to one.
But the goal at the death finally sealed the win and the two league points for the locals.
