Christopher Murrin . . . in good form for Killybegs
There were no goals this week, but Killybegs continued with another win in Division Three with victory over Red Hugh's at Fintra.
Red Hugh's 0-11
The Fishermen hit eight goals last week in Moville, but they were taking their points this time against a gritty Red Hugh's side who made a real fight of it.
The win sees Killybegs remain firmly at the top of Division Two and well on their way to getting straight back up to Division Two after being relegated last year.
The sides were level at 0-5 each at the break, with Daniel Breslin and Michael Gallagher each hitting a brace for the home side.
Killybegs took a firm grip of the tie in the third quarter when they went 0-9 to 0-5 ahead with points from Shaun Gorrell, Daniel Breslin, Michael Gallagher (free) and Daniel O'Keeney.
Red Hugh's pulled a couple of points back but Michael Statham (free) edged Killybegs three clear. Further points from Christopher Murrin and David McGuinness had the gap at four, 0-12 to 0-8. Murrin added the last Killybegs point while Red Hugh's rallied but were unable to bridge the gap.
