Drama as Strand Rovers take Donegal Saturday League One title

It looked as if the Saturday League One title would go to a play-off but as often happens, there was a twist on the final day.
Strand Rovers had to cross the water to take on Arranmore, while Glencar went to the Hospital Field to take on Donegal Town.
It looked as if Glencar were going to take the title as Arranmore took a first half lead through Aidan Proctor.
But it all came down to the last ten minutes with Strand Rovers winning a penalty on the island while Donegal Town Reserves delivered a mortal blow to Glencar's hopes by scoring the only goal of the game through Ronan McHugh with just seven minutes left in the game.
Shane O'Donnell proved to be the Strand Rovers hero after Ryan Greene won the vital penalty.
It certainly was a great finish to the league for Strand, who got back in the race with their win over Glencar the previous week.
