Back in November we carried a back page story on Drumbar FC and their quest to have a defibrillator installed at their grounds on the Old Laghey Road outside Donegal Town.
They were organising fund-raising events to raise the money required after an incident at the grounds in the previous weeks when a player got into difficulties. Happily, the player in question was okay. But the incident was the spur for the club to raise money to have a defibrillator installed.
And last weekend they took delivery of their own defibrillator, thanks to sponsorship of Britton Insurance.
Apart from their own fund-riaising, they have also received donations and the task now will be to provide training for their leaders.
It was a story with a good ending. (See original Democrat back page story on right).
