Jason Quigley makes winning return in Boston after bruising encounter

It wasn't easy but Jason Quigley retained his unbeaten record as he stopped Puerto Rican Daniel Rosario in his comeback fight in Boston last night.
The Donegal middleweight eventually wore down Rosario, with the referee stopping the contest in the sixth round after Quigley had launched a body attack which had him on his knees.
But it wasn't easy for the Twin Towns man to keep his unbeaten record intact. He showed some rustiness early on, and that was hardly surprising after being out for a full year with injury.
But his transfer to training under Dominic Ingle in Sheffield seems to have done the trick, and he is back on course for his goal of moving up the ranks and getting a shot at a world title.
The 26-year-old will be happy to have got the win on his return on the Golden Boy ESPN bill at Marina Bay SportsPlex, Quincy, against a very touth opponent.
It was not easy for Quigley, who was bloodied at the end, but he showed his battling qualities and can look forward to a short rest before his next fight.
The freeview broadcast of Quigley-Rosario fight will be replayed on eir Sport at 7pm this Sunday evening.
