The All-County League Division One season with two games on Easter weekend. The first game is at home to Dungloe on Good Friday and the second game is away to Kilcar on Easter Sunday,

100 club membership is due at €240 (It can be paid in instalments or direct debit, €1,000 given out in prize money each month- one €500 winner and 5 €100 winners each month; includes club membership)

The lotto numbers drawn last Wednesday, werev 2,8,9,14,16,17. The jackpot was not won. We had one match 5 winner. Congratulations to Kathleen Montgomery who won the €100.


While it remains relatively quiet on the playing front, U16 boys football has begun. The Division One team were at home to Milford on Sunday in their first game.. The lads got their season off to a good start with a big win and they are free this week due to an uneven number of teams in the division.

The U16 development team will begin their season on Bank Holiday Monday (19th) with a home game against Glenfin at 12 noon.

Underage hurling commences on Thursday, March 22nd with Minor (U18) and U14 games.

The adult football leagues get underway on Good Friday (March 30th). The seniors are at home to neighbours Glenswilly (6pm) before they make the short journey to Milford on the Sunday for a meeting with Milford.

There will be another membership registration this Tuesday night, March 13th in the Clubhouse between 7pm and 8pm.

Local school teams that have a big representation from our club have been performing well in recent weeks. Coláiste Ailigh senior boys have qualified for their All-Ireland Final after a superb late comeback against Rathkeale (Limerick) in the semi-final. They will take on St. Cuan’s, Castleblakeney (Galway) in the senior D Final on Saturday week, March 24th with venue tbc. Loreto, Letterkenny U16 ½ girls lost their Ulster B Final against St. Catherine’s, Armagh early last week. St. Eunan’s College will contest the Danske Bank McLarnon Cup (B) Final against Holy Trinity, Cookstown next Monday, March 19th in Armagh. Should they win they will advance to an All-Ireland semi-final.

The months mind mass for Noel McDermott takes place this Wednesday, March 14th in the Church at Cnoc Fola.


The lotto numbers drawn last week were 6,7,2,5,3,1,4,8. There was no winning sequence. The lucky dip winner was Coco Li, Ard McCool who won €30. This week’s jackpot is €3,675.

The 100 club winner was Helen Bradley Garrison Hill who won €100.

The club are hosting a breakfast morning on Saturday the 17th March in clubhouse from 9am.

There was a great turnout at our registration and training on Saturday. Any children/adults that still wish to register can do so with their coaches at our breakfast morning on St Patrick’s Day morning.


With the club registration deadline closing in we urge members to ensure they have their club membership paid. The Ladies will be hosting an open registration session on Thursday 22nd March in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh. Membership can be paid at any time to Gerry Ferguson at Ferguson's Jewellers. Players can also download registration forms from and submit this along with the relevant fee directly to their manager.

The under 16 footballers will finally get their season up and running on Tuesday when they travel to Ardara.

Well done to the county under 17s who earned a 2-8 to 0-13 win over Tyrone in their opening fixture of the Ulster League played at Father Tierney Park last Saturday. Aodh Ruadh had strong interest in the game with Shane Gillespie anchoring the defence at centre back and Senan Rooney in the attack. Eoin Doherty was also an early sub as Donegal got the better of the Red Hands.

Ladies: There was a big Aodh Ruadh representation in county action over the weekend. On Saturday the minors and the under 14s were taking on Tyrone at Killygordon. Briana Maher fielded at full back, with Cáit Gillespie at half forward and Ana Keon on the squad too. They had a tough battle with the Red Hands and it finished all square 2-5 to 3-2. The under 14 game also finished level at 2-7 to 3-4. Aodh Ruadh had three starters on the team. Áine Hill in goal, Lucy McGlynn at centre back and Caoimhe Hughes-O'Brien in midfield. Also on the squad were Katie O'Brien and Aoibheann McGarrigle. On Sunday it was the under 16s turn to take to the field as they tackled Monaghan at Inniskeen in the Ulster Championship group stages. They emerged with a 2-11 to 0-6 win over the hosts with Caoimhe Keon lining out at midfield and Caitlin McGarrigle also part of the panel.

Aodh Ruadh will once again be taking part in the St Patrick's Day parade. Bord na nÓg players, underage ladies players and juvenile hurlers are invited to take part this Saturday. Players are to assemble at Gaelscoil Éirne at 1.40pm. Jerseys will be provided. Parents / guardians can collect players at the Market Yard after the parade.

Aodh Ruadh Ladies are collecting any unwanted clothes, bags, belts, pairs of shoes and bed linen you might have. The aim is to collect as many 10kg bags as possible. The Aodh Ruadh ladies Duck Race returns to its traditional Easter slot this year.The Ducks go under starters orders at 2pm on the testing McKenna's Brook course on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd April.

Aodh Ruadh are running an Easter Camp from Monday 26th March to Wednesday 28th March. Each day runs from 10am to 2pm and welcomes children from junior infants to sixth class. It costs €30 per child, but family concessions are available. Contact Brian Roper on 087-6139065 for further information and bookings.

Round five of Last One Standing only saw two players leave the competition. Galway, Tipperary and Mayo were the popular selections and as we head for round six there are still 58 people left in the hunt for the big prize.

There will be a child protection course in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh on April 7th starting 2pm and running to 5pm. There are 20 places on the course with ten places available for Bord na nÓg coaches and ten for Ladies coaches. Contact Patricia Hill, David O'Donnell or Lisa McTernan to book your place.

Well done to the Trath na gCeist team of Sylvester Maguire, Paddy Kelly, Eamonn Martin Maguire and John Hughes who took silver at the Irish language Ulster final in Armagh, just losing out to Cornafean after eight tough rounds of questions.

There was no winner of last week's lotto jackpot of €7,000. The winning numbers drawn were 1, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 15. There is an exciting week ahead for U11-U14 girls as they enter the final stages of Kathleen McNamara Memorial Town League. The semi finals are on at the pitch this Wednesday and Thursday at 4.15pm with the final on St Patrick’s Day morning.

Both senior teams will begin life in Division Two with a home fixture against local rivals Four Masters on Good Friday followed by an away trip to Naomh Mhuire, on Easter Sunday/Monday.

The club dinner dance was held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Saturday 10th March. Thanks to the staff and management of the Highlands Hotel for hosting the event and the Ballroom looked amazing.

Naomh Brid / Pettigo U16 played Naomh Mhuire last weekend and were defeated.


Well done to our u16 boys who have won their first round of the League against Kilcar.

The u14s have the first round of the Gaeltacht competition on Friday the 16th at home at 5pm.

Congratulations to our reserves who narrowly beat Naomh Columba on Saturday in the Gaeltacht .

The senior men will play their first game of the Gaeltacht competition on St Patrick’s Day at 10 am in Glenfin.

Unfortunately we had no success at the Ulster semi-final in Burtonport at the weekend. Our thanks to all our participants and especially Ann Marie Sheerin and her team for all their tremendous work.

The Easter camp will take place will be on April 4th , 5th and 6th,. It is for children from 6 years upwards, the cost is €25 for the first child and €20 for each subsequent child. Registration will take place soon.

There was no nursery this weekend but back again next Saturday at 10 am

The club will be having their Annual €100 ten week draw commencing with the first draw on Friday May 11th.


The Reserves lost at home to Kilcar on Saturday, in the junior Gaeltacht.

The club extends deepest sympathy to the Kelly and Boyle families on the death of Dannie Kelly, Kilmacloo Creeslough.

There was no Jackpot winner in the mini lotto on Sunday night.The numbers drawn were 2,11,12,14,16,17. There were no match 5 winners and 21 people matched 4 and their names were drawn. The winner of the €100 was Derek Wilkinson Creeslough. This weeks Jackpot is €5650.

The club are holding one more registration evening this Thursday 15th March 5.30 - 7pm at the Wild Atlantic Camp in Creeslough. This will be the last organised registration evening. Alternatively, you can go online via the club page and register there.

Well done to Woodland National School Camogie team on their great win last week in the Cumann na mBunscol Indoor county final in Burt.

The U-16 footballers got their season off to a start with a home game against St. Michaels on Sunday past. Unfortunately the lads lost to the men from the Bridge.

Congratulations to Shaun McDaid, Ryan Ivers and Fiona McFeeley who represented the club in the Ulster semi final of Scor Sinsir in Burtonport on Saturday night. The trio were successful in the Traditional music and will now go forward to the Ulster final on March 24th, in Silverbridge, Co Armagh.

We're happy to announce that Rory's Stories will be in the clubhouse the night of the 24th of March, the night before the Mayo League game in MacCumhaill Park.

Tickets are very limited for this show and are priced at €10 and can be got from the clubhouse from 9.30pm to 10.30pm on Thursday night.

Our Under-16s were out in their first league game in Mac Cumhaill Park on Sunday. In a high scoring game Mac Cumhaills had the better of the first half but Convoy rallied and won out 5-9 to 3-9.

Registration for all members is now due. Forms can be obtained from coaches.

There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 4, 12, 26 and 27. There was two match three winners Danno Laverty and Noreen Lynch. This week’s jackpot is €6,200 and Derek Lynch’s team is selling.

This year’s Easter camp will take place on Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th and Friday 6th of April from 10:00am-2:00pm each day. This is for children aged 5-13 and the price is €30 for the first child and €25 for each additional child. Registration for the camp will take place on Sunday 1st of April from 11:30am-12:30pm. Membership will also be collected on the morning of the Big Breakfast.

The senior team will begin their season with two matches over Easter weekend. They play Termon at home on Good Friday 30th of March and Ardara away on Easter Sunday.

Club Lotto: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot €4700 in week 35 of the 2017/18 season draw held in the Abbey Hotel on Monday 12th March 2018.

Our senior teams had good wins in their opening Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta matches last Saturday Sóisear - Naomh Mícheál 1-06 Cill Chartha 3-04 agus Sinsear - Cloich Cheann Fhaola 1-08 Cill Chartha 1-10, seniors play Naomh Conaill away this Saturday morning at 11:30am and our Juniors host Gaoth Dobhair TBC. The opening matches of the league begin on Good Friday with matches away to Naomh Conaill and on Easter Sunday we host newly promoted Cloughneely.

Our Under 16s were defeated at St Nauls 0-11 to 2-03 last Saturday in their first match of the season they host Bundoran this Monday at 12 noon.

Our u16 boys will get their League campaign underway next Monday (Bank Holiday) in Convoy with a 12 noon throw in.

Our u8s and u10s were both out preparing for their season on Saturday last. This was the third Saturday our U8s were at An Craoibhin with Daireann Gibson, Conall Mc Gettigan and PJ Kelly in charge, while Jim Bonar and Liam Cunningham had the U10s in Kilmacrennan NS for their first day out of 2018. There will be no U8 or U10 coaching this Saturday (St Patricks day) but from Sat 24th it will be full steam ahead. Coaching for our U6s will commence after Easter.

Well done to Jamie Grant and Caolan Gallagher who made their debuts for the Donegal minor team in a hard fought Ulster Minor League victory over Tyrone on Saturday last.
