County Board: Congratulations to our own Seamus Carr who was returned unopposed as Central Council Delegate at the County Board convention at the weekend. Seamus does a fine job in his role as delegate and along with his fellow officers, wish them all well for the year ahead.
Colm Tully Memorial Mass: A reminder that there will be a 1st anniversary mass for Colm Tully RIP on Saturday, 10th December at 7pm at the Catholic church, Acton High Street.
Good Luck: Good luck to St. Kiernan’s as they prepare to face Slaughtneil in next weekend’s All-Ireland Football Quarter Final. Throw in is Sunday 11th of December 1pm at Greenford.
Childrens Christmas Party: Thank you to Eileen, Esther and Martha for once again organising the Childrens Christmas Party. Thank you also to Father Christmas who took time out of his busy schedule to make a lot of children very happy.
Anyone with Underage Christmas tickets are asked to leave them back with their managers as soon as they can or they can leave them in McClean’s shop for the attention of Maria McLaughlin on or before Friday the 16th of December. The draw will take place on Sunday the 19th of December.
Our Grupai Cheoil and dancers participated in the Scor County final last Sunday and although they didn’t win, they performed and represented the club very well. The club would like to thank our Scor team and also Roisin McGrory and Janet Coyle.

Congratulations to Del Laverty, Conor Griffin, Aaron McAuley and Sean Curran who were part of the Donegal panel who won the Under-21 C All-Ireland earlier in the year. Del and Conor attended the Donegal GAA Banquet on Saturday night in the Abbey Hotel.

Underage Presentaion: One of the biggest occasions of the year took place last Friday in the new training room at the Banks. A large crowd was in attendance and we thank all parents, members, players and the organisers that made the effort to make the night such an experience for everyone. Everybody was a winner on the night, however, every year we present individual awards: The most dedicated winners were U-12 Erin Sharkey and Pierce McBride. U-14s Holly Doherty and Conor Hanlon. Aodh Ruadh looked back over a year of underage football in the Abbey Centre on Saturday afternoon, with a little help from county legend Michael Murphy with presentations made to all underage teams.

Our under 12s travelled to Letterkenny on Sunday for a trip to Arena 7 as a reward for their great efforts all year. Well done to Denis Daly who organised the trip and thanks to all the parents who helped out on the day.

Letterkenny Gaels Ladies are delighted to announce their Winter Ladies Football Training program. During the winter months the Circuit based training will take place indoors at the Gaels Clubroom on the Thorn Road. The training for 16's to adult continues every Friday evening from 6.30-7.30pm. For the younger girls from 12-16 years football/Circuit training is on every Monday from 6.30pm – 7.30pm at the clubhouse.

CLG Gaeil Fhánada are holding a Club planning workshop this Friday 9th December in Rosnakill Community Centre at 7:30pm for everyone in the community, all past or present members, parents, players, supporters, diaspora, teachers, business owners and officers.
The club is in the process of developing a five-year strategic plan, which will map out the future direction of the Club. This is an extremely important development for the club as the aim is to assess the past and present and build for a successful future on and off the pitch.

The club would like to congratulate and thank Andy Connor and his management team for the trojan work they have done and their great achievements with the team over the last few years. This year in particular has been a terrific year for the team, winning Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta and the Junior A County title. To win a national title and a county title in the same year is a huge achievement and involves a lot of hard work,preparation, training and is very demanding on one’s time. Andy has decided to have a rest and no-one can argue that it’s a very well deserved rest. Andy has always been very involved with teams at all levels and no doubt he will be back again. Gura míle maith agat Andy.

After a historic season it is hoped as many as possible will join us for our Annual Dinner Dance on the 28th December in Mulroy Woods. Music will be by the Copycats and it is always a great night to catch up for those who have been away from home. Tickets cost €30 and would make an ideal Christmas present! More details to follow in the coming weeks.
Our Annual Exiles Match will take place this St Stephen’s Day as we welcome home all our former players and coaches for Christmas. All those hoping to tog out are asked to be at the pitch for 12 for 12.20 throw in. It is always a great days craic with a presentation afterwards in Dustys. All welcome as always!

CLG Ard an Ratha are now seeking applications for the positions of senior and senior reserve managers for the 2017 season. U14 and U16 training continues every Monday and Wednesday at 6.45 to 8.30pm in the clubhouse with Declan Harkin. It’s €3 per player. Can all players also bring their own water.
