Donegal GAA officials hope to have the investigation into the recent Naomh Conaill versus Kilcar league game wrapped up by early next week.
Donegal CCC secretary, Declan Martin, told the Democrat last night that the CCC had set no deadline for the conclusion of the investigatione. However, he did stress that they hoped to have the matter dealt with as expediently as possible.
The two-person investigation committee of Eilish Doherty and Jim Quinn, set up to investigate the game, met officials from the two clubs on Monday night. And they have also interviewed a number of county officials who were at the game.
The Democrat has also learned that the Naomh Conaill club have handed over a private dvd of the game.
Sean MacCumhaill’s are still awaiting the outcome of the investigation into the ugly clashes at the end of last month’s Ulster Junior Hurling final with Lamh Dhearg, from Antrim.
MacCumhaill’s officials met with the investigation committee on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Frankie Doherty, chairman of the Donegal CCC, said they had no plans to investigate the ugly skirmish towards the end of last Sunday’s Donegal U-21 hurling final between Buncrana and St Eunan’s.
