Olympian Chloe Magee to have homecoming with a difference

Chloe Magee, triple Olympian badminton player, is having an Olympics homecoming with a difference in her native Raphoe on Monday night.

To mark her return from her third Olympics, her home club, Raphoe Badminton Club, have organised a number of exhibition games with several of the top young Irish Badminton players taking part.

Among those making the journey to the North West especially for the homecoming are Sarah Boyle, the Ireland No. 2 ladies badminton player behind Chloe who is the No. 1; the Irish men’s U-19 doubles champions Paul Reynolds and Nhat Nguyan, the Irish men’s singles No. 2 behind Olympian Scott Evans.

Chloe will also be joined by her brothers, Sam and Josh, the Irish doubles champions, and her niece Rachael Darragh, the Irish women’s singles No. 3.

Chloe Magee etched her name into the Donegal history books this summer following her appearance at Rio 2106. She is the first Donegal sports person to compete in three Olympics.

The exhibition will also to mark the start of Badminton Ireland’s badminton week.

The first match in the Raphoe Badminton Club is timed for 8pm.
