The new Donegal League season continued over the weekend with action in the Voodoo Venue Cup on Saturday and the Brian McCormick Cup on Sunday.
In the McCormick Cup, the semi-finals took place in each of the four Areas with last year's beaten finalists Castlefinn Celtic among the winners.
Castlefinn defeated Deele Harps in the semi-final in the Lifford Area.
Next Sunday, the four Area Finals will be played while there's action too on Saturday in both divisions.
Lagan Harps booked their place in the Area Final following a penalty shoot-out win over Drumoghill FC.
The game had finished 2-2 after extra time with Mark Hunter giving Lagan the lead only for Chris Malseed to equalise for Drumoghill. Malseed scored a second on 80 minutes but Kenny Doran equalised to send the game to extra time.
Goalkeeper Jason Quinn was the Lagan hero as they advanced after spot kicks.
Lagan will play Rathmullan Celtic in the Letterkenny Area Final. In an early kick-off at St. Patrick’s Park, Rathmullan beat Drumkeen United 1-0 with the goal scored by Niall Carruthers.
Donegal Town eased to a 4-1 win over Cappry rovers. David Graham scored twice for Donegal with David Harron also scoring to give Donegal a 3-0 lead at the break. Cappry pulled a goal back after half time but Joe McIntyre scored again for Donegal Town.
They’ll meet St. Catherine’s in the Area Final. The Killybegs side beat Erne Wanderers 3-2.
Castlefinn Celtic, beaten finalists in the Brian McCormick Sports Cup last season, are into another Area Final following their 5-1 semi final win over Deele Harps.
