Our seniors and reserves both had good wins over Glenswilly in Division One on Sunday, our seniors won by 3-19 to 0-09 to remain joint top of division one with Gaoth Dobhair who visit Towney this Friday evening while our reserves won 1-09 to 0-08 they remain third in the league three points behind the leaders St Eunans.
Best of luck to Gary, Brian, Daniel, Neilly and the Donegal Minor team in the All-Ireland semi-final this Sunday against Galway.
Our Under 16s had a good 2-16 to 1-05 at home to Ardara on Wednesday in the league they travel to Aodh Ruadh this Monday in their final match. Congratulations to Ryan McHugh and Hugh McFadden who ran a very successful Gaelic football camp this week in Towney, 107 kids attended the camp.

Malin seniors lost out to Four Masters last Sunday on a scoreline of Malin 1-08 Four Masters 2-15 with Seamus Houghton getting the Malin goal.

There was disappointment for Aoife McColgan and her Donegal Ladies senior teammates on Saturday when they were beaten by Dublin on a scoreline of Dublin 1-13 Donegal 2-07 in the all-Ireland quarter final.
The club are holding a Ceili of Friday night in St. Patrick’s Hall, Malin at 9:00pm. Music is by the Martin Duggan Ceili Band. Admission €5 with supper served.
The U16 Girls are playing against Urris on Thursday in Connolly Park at 6:30pm.
The under 8 and a half and under 10 and a half boys teams attended the Ulster Blitz in Bellaghy last weekend. The under 8’s beat Swatragh and Dungannon and lost to Bellaghy in the group stage which left them in the quarter finals were they lost by a point to Glenullin. The under 10’s lost to Burren and Magherafelt and drew with Donaghmore. They then played in the shield and beat Kilcoo, Greenlough and Dungannon to get to the shield final were they were beaten by a goal by Donaghmore.

Commiserations to the Donegal senior ladies team who were beat by Dublin in the All Ireland quarter final in Longford last Saturday.
Our senior and reserves were both away to Cloughaneely in the league on Sunday the 14th. Both teams came out on the wrong side of the result. The reserves were understrength and struggled to get into the game. Final score Cloughaneely 1.16 – Glenfin 0.08.
The seniors will feel this was one that got away, losing 3-8 to 1-6. Both teams are home to Milford next Saturday the 20th in the league.
There was no 3rd team game last weekend. Their next fixture is home to McCools next Sunday the 21st.

Our minors girls came through the second test of their championship campaign with victory over Milford in breezy Traigh a Locha on Tuesday evening. Full time score: Gaeil Fhánada 6:09 Milford 2:01. This was a very good team performance and victory means that our girls will progress to the knockout stages in the A section of the competition.

Fanad well represented in Buncrana Cup: Another proud day for the Fanad Gaels club as we were well represented at this year's Buncrana Cup with 3 Fanad lads part of the squad that faced off against Monaghan and Armagh. Mark McAteer, Fergus Friel and Eoin McGonigle were all part of the panel and put in a huge effort to get there.

Seniors and Reserves: Both teams played St Michaels in the league on Sunday. The Reserves were defeated 1-16 to 1-6 whilst the Seniors gained another point in their quest for Division 1 survival on a 0-17 1-14 scoreline. Also a huge word of thanks to all those who assisted in any way to ensure that the young St Michaels player received the best of medical attention following his unfortunate injury on Sunday. Everyone at CLG Realt na Mara wishes him a full and speedy recovery.

The ladies of Realt Ruadh were defeated by Buncrana in their semifinal on Sunday last. The U16 girls team were pipped at the post when a late St Nauls goal gave them victory on Thursday last.
Both teams were away to Bundoran on Sunday last in the All County League The seniors staged a late comeback to earn a point on a scoreline of Bundoran 17 St. Michael’s 14. The St. Michael’s scorers were: Colm McFadden 1-4, Michael Langan 0-3, Michael Cannon 0-2, Christy Toye 0-2, Daniel McLaughlin 0-2 and Keelan McGee 0-1.

U15 Ogsport Finals: Red Hugh’s hosted the all county u15 Ogsport finals on Sunday. This was a fantastic tournament which is played 7 aside. The level of football played was exceotional by all teams.
Our own team competed well against finalists N.Conaill in our first group game with Cody Laverty getting 2 goals and Kieran Neeson exceptional throughout. However the difference was N.Conaill were more accurate in front of the posts and able to take their scores when the chances arrived. They played Urris in their second game.
There could only be one winner and it was Killybegs who beat a good N. Conaill side. Killybegs go onto to represent Donegal in Ulster Og Sport.
Red Hugh's Under 12 boys travelled up to Moy on Saturday morning to take part in a tournament with clubs from all over Ulster participating. Our boys played excellent throughout losing only a few games in the group stages by the narrowest of margins. However they had done enough to make the quarter finals to defeat a strong Edendork team managed by Tyrones Number 1 goalkeeper Niall Morgan. In a attacking match Red Hugh's came out on top with a 1 point victory. Red Hugh's however bowed out in the semi-final.
Red Hugh's Under 10's will also travel to Moy on Saturday 10th September for a simular tournament.
The Red Hugh’s strictly come dancing is now fixed for Friday the 21st of October. This should be a great evenings entertainment. Anyone interested in taking part contact Liam Doherty, Alice Doherty and Diane Gallagher.
The senior squad secured another 2 vital points in their bid for promotion with a powerful display away to Lifford. Conor McCahill with his second hatrick of goals this season was the stand out out player from an excellent team performance. With three games remaining its in our own hands to gain promotion to division 3 for the first time in a number of years. This Saturday evening we host Carndonagh with a 6pm throw in.
This week our under 12s squad travel to Croke Park to participate in the Ulster activities day. A terrific day out for our young guns as they firstly avail of a tour of the stadium and museum and then play a mini go games competition on the hallow turf of croker. A full report in next weeks notes.

2010 was the last time that Aodh Ruadh played in division two, but after six long hard years in the third tier of Donegal football Ballyshannon have finally made their return to the second flight with a 0-12 to 0-8 win over Downings.
The reserves made it double joy for the club with a comprehensive 1-14 to 0-7 victory over Downings.
Next up for Aodh Ruadh is visit to Burt in the league. The reserves get the action underway at 5.30pm followed by the senior encounter at 6pm.
The under 16s came up short against Dungloe in Fr Tierney Park last Wednesday, losing out on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-17. The next scheduled fixture is in Fintra on Sunday 28th August against Killybegs.
The under 8s will be travelling to Ardara for a blitz this Saturday.
The senior hurlers sank to a 3-18 to 1-7 defeat against St Eunan's in round four of the championship. They are due out in their next championship tie this Friday when they travel to Ballybofey to take on MacCumhaill's at 7pm.
The under 12s were at home to Buncrana and put in a great performance winning the game comfortably. They are home again this Thursday against Burt.
The under 16s played Carndonagh in Convoy. For a variety of reasons we only had 12 players, but they put in a great effort and ran out winners in a tight game on a 7-4 to 5-6 scoreline.
On Sunday we had our annual trip to Croke Park for the All-Ireland semi-final between Tipperary and Galway and like previous years we were treated to a classic game. It was a great trip and as usual the lads were very well behaved and were a credit to the club and their families.
Commiserations to the Donegal team and Sarah Patton who put in a good showing against a strong Dublin outfit.
Under 13 girls training continues this Wednesday at 6.30pm and Friday at 6.30pm. The first league match for the side is on Saturday, 3rd September, so it is essential we see as many as possible at training between now and then.

The Naomh Brid senior and reserve teams defeated Urris away in the league on Sunday. The final score in the senior 3-7 to 2-5, and in the reserve it finished 0-11 to 0-7. The club would like to wish Declan Mc Cafferty a speedy recovery after a heavy knock in the senior game.

On Thursday night our U-12 hurlers played neighbours St.Eunans at Pairc na nGael. Despite a good team performance they lost out to a strong St.Eunans side.
The Senior Ladies football team travelled to Glenswilly on Sunday to take on the Glen girls in their Championship match.
Glenswilly's experience and strength was too much for the young Gaels side but the girls are improving all the time.
The Letterkenny Gaels trio of Diarmuid O'Cathail, Mikey Sweeney and Ross Marley played for Donegal in last weekends Buncrana Cup. The lads lost their first game against Monaghan and won the match against Armagh which gave them 3rd place in the competition.
Laura Foody and Niamh Hanley are the Letterkenny Gaels representatives on the Donegal LGFA U-17 Development Squad for 2016. The girls played in a National U-17 Development Squad Blitz in Portmarnock GAA club on Tuesday. Well done girls.
The annual Letterkenny Gaels camogie camp took place last week at Pairc na nGael and once again was a huge success. Over 60 girls from 5 to 14 years participated over the 3 days under the guidance of lead coach Ann Marie Gibbons.

The U14 boys footballers claimed a great win in their County Championship Final against neighbours Termon in Convoy after a superb display, running out winners on a score of 3-11 to 2-08.
The Seniors and Reserves also met Termon at the Burn Rd. on Sunday. The Reserves had a big win with the Seniors game being a much closer affair with the lads getting a good win in the end. Both teams will host N. Conaill this Saturday with the games throwing in at 5:30pm (Res.) and 7pm
The Senior Hurlers had a good win in the Championship round-robin at home against Aodh Ruadh, BS on Saturday.
The Minor Boys footballers travel to Gaoth Dobhair next Tuesday (23 rd ) for a championship group game. Throw-in at 7pm.
The U16 hurlers were beaten in Buncrana last week and travel this Thursday (18) to Burt for a league game. The U12 hurlers had a good win over the Gaels last week and they host MacCumhaills this Thursday.
The U16 Camogie team were narrowly beaten by Burt last week and their next game is away to Carndonagh with day and time tbc.
The U13 boys footballers begin their campaigns this Friday with the div. 1 team at home to Buncrana and the Div. 3 (U12) team away to MacCumhaills. Both games throw-in at 7pm.
There will be no Century Cinemas Sunday Morning Football Academy this Sunday (21 st ) due to Donegal’s involvement in the All-Ireland Minor football semi-final and the Donegal Marathon also taking place.

Our annual Darren mc Ginley memorial tournament took place at the weekend, it was another successful day with 6 teams taking part and some great football played, Dungloe won the shield, defeating killybegs in a very good final while St nauls won the cup playing some excellent football along the way.
In between both finals there was an allstar game some if our oast Ladies players came out ot retirement foe the day abd put on a fantastic performance with Sean Gavigans team of legends out witting Danny Cunningham's team to win bragging rights, thanks to all the clubs for participating and supporting the tournament. Thanks also to the Mc Ginley family and everybody who helped out in any way that helped make it another great days entertainment.
The club wishes our own Erin Cunningham a speedy recovery after picking up an injury while playing on Saturday in the tournament.
Both men's teams made the trip to Milford at the weekend in the league, our reserves were unlucky to come away with nothing after a good battle. Our seniors were also defeated in a fantastic game of end to end football, in a game that could have gone either way Milford prevailed. Congradulations to our U-14 Boys team who have been crowned county Div 2 champions following their 3-13 to 2-5 victory over Milford at the Bridge, Dunfanaghy last week. Leading by just 5 points at the break having played with the strong breeze our young stars put on an exhibition in the second half to run out comfortable and deserving winners.
Our Under-16 girls got their league campaign off to a great start with a win over Cloughaneely. They will now have a home tie against Milford on Thursday evening and the action gets under way at 5.30.
Ardara seniors and reserves travel to the Burn Road in our final encounter of the year with the men from Ardara, throw-in is at 5.30 for the Reserves and 7pm for the seniors. All support welcome.
With just days until Sunday’s All Ireland Minor Semi-final against Galway on Sunday, we would like to send the best wishes to Enda McCormick and the boys as they prepare for the biggest game of the year so far. We know than many club people are travelling to give Enda their support on Sunday, and for those unable to make it to Dubin, the game will be broadcast on TG4 at 1.30pm. Ádh mór ort Enda!
The under 13 boys have their first game of the year on Friday Aug 19th at 7pm, away to Robert Emmetts, followed on Wednesday August 24 at 7pm by Glenswilly As at the Burn Road, and Burt at home the following Friday, August 26th. And on the last day of the month, they travel to Ballybofey to play Mac Cumhaills As.
Our U12 boys were magnificent and have tales galore of gaols and points scored, tackles and blocks made in Croke Park earlier today. The huge cheers that greeted the boys on their entry to the hallowed turf and for every score, and there were many, will be remembered for a long long time. The first Termon team to grace the incredible stadium and got to prepare in the dressing rooms where Donegal were two weeks ago....A fantastic day for all involved with Paddy, David and Eddie also relishing getting to see their team represent Termon and Donegal with style in games against Malin and Glenfin
Last week’s draw took place in McClafferty’s, Church Hill, with no jackpot winner. Next week’s draw is for the fine sum of €2,050 and the draw takes place in The Glenveagh Inn with Conor Tinney and Kevin McElwaine co-ordinating.

Commiserations to the Donegal Senior ladies who, after a hard fought quarter final against Dublin, were unfortunate not to make it the next stage. Well done to the girls and management on making it that far, a great achievement for all involved.

Having overcome Letterkenny Gaels on Sunday last, the ladies team now face Fanad Gaels in the Championship Final on Sunday week, August 28th. The venue and time for the final has yet to be finalised but we will post on the Facebook page as soon as we know.
