The senior and reserve footballers had no games at the weekend. The thirds lost their game away to St Eunan’s.

The senior ladies played Glenswilly at home on Sunday morning in a game that started off at a frantic pace. This young team are growing in confidence and improving with every game even though they lost.

The seniors and reserves lost to Kilcar in Rosses Park on Sunday.

The ladies played Naomh Columba also in Rosses Park on Sunday morning, winning on a fantastic scoreline of 4-11 to 1-07. Well done to all the ladies.

The club hosted an U10 blitz on Saturday morning with Naomh Mhuire and Naomh Conaill. The blitz was highly praised by members and parents alike from the other clubs. A special word of thanks to both clubs for travelling to Rosses Park and also to all involved, who made the day a great success. Thank you.

There was a minute’s silence before the senior game as a mark of respect to former GAA president Joe McDonagh and club stalwarts Brian Manus O'Donnell and Eamon Martin who also died recently.

Best wishes to the U14 hurlers had a great win ahead of this week's league semi final against Aodh Rudh in Ballyshannon.

The seniors and reserves had good wins away to Dungloe in the league on Sunday.

The Under 12s had a good win over away to Pettigo.

The annual Sports Day will take place this year on Sunday 5th June in Connolly Park. The charities of choice this year are The Jack & Jill Foundation and Meningitis Research Foundation. Our now famous Country Queen will also take place, with some lovely ladies representing local businesses trying to win the coveted crown. We will also have our James Anthony McColgan Memorial 7 a side Gaelic Tournament, with teams from around the parish hoping to win the Cup.

The minor boys were defeated by Cloughaneely last Wednesday in the County Division Two final. The team on the night was Daniel Houghton, Robert Boggs, Cormac Cullinan, Conor Kelly, Conor McGeoghan, Ryan Doherty, Conor Quigley, Ciaran Doherty, Joe Doherty, Connor McColgan, Oisin McGonagle, Tiarnan Stevens, Joe Doherty (pm), Conor Bambrick and Padraig McCarron. Subs Callum Doherty, Andrew Mullin, Aidan Bambrick, Ciaran Doherty, Conor Gallagher, Aaron McLaughlin, Tomás Mullin, Fergal Monagle, Sean Byrne and Sean O’Neill. Well done to Patrick Collins, Paul Gallagher, Terence McLaughlin and their team getting to the final. The under 12 boys are at home to Urris in the last 11-a-side games and a win would see them through to the Maurice McMenamin finals next Sunday at 5:30pm in Muff.


The seniors season got a big boost at the weekend with the return to action of Darach O’Connor after a lengthy layoff. Darach was introduced in the second half of game against Burt.

The seniors won a close game by a point and the reserves drew with Burt.

The u15 Og Sport team has qualified for the Northern final following narrow wins at the weekend against Red Hughs and Convoy.

Last Thursday night proved to be a special night for Buncrana hurling. The U14s continued their dominance at this age group in claiming the league title against St Eunan’s. This squad have been together since November and deserve what has been their third title already this year..They will also look forward to the upcoming trip to the All-Ireland Feile which is taking place in the ancestral home of hurling Tipperary.

The minor hurlers won the minor league beating Sean MacCumhaills in the final by two points.

Matthew Wilson received a nasty injury during this match and was taking to hospital by ambulance, thankfully he will make a full recovery. A special thanks to the McCumhaills club physio who took control of the situation in a very professional manner.


Next Sunday - May 29th from 2-5pm a great day of fun and activities are planned for the Banks in support of Team Cian's upcoming Dublin Women’s Marathon. Ten locals will take part raising funds for the outstanding charities of Temple Street Children’s Hospital and the Jack and Jill Foundation.

Last week’s winning numbers were 2,17,21,23. There was one match three winner Mary McGinley Calhame. Next week’s jackpot is €1940.

Last Wednesday evening our under 12s hosted a game to Na Rossa our team put on a good show against a stronger visiting team thanks to all the parents who helped in any way Go raibh mhaith agat.

The weekly lotto draw took place on Monday 23rd May 2016. The numbers drawn were 16, 19, 28 and 32. There was no jackpot winner. Twelve people matched two numbers. Following a draw the five winners, each receiving €20, were Paddy Masterson, Stevie Gamble, Patricia McShane, Paul Martin and Shaun Doherty (Jnr). Next week’s jackpot will be €1900.

The club are hosting a health awareness evening in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town on Thursday 2nd of June 2016 .

The U8’s hosted a blitz on Sunday morning Tir Conaill Park. St.Nuals and Bundoran were the visiting clubs. Both Four Masters teams played exceptionally well in all the games. Thanks goes to all coaches James Cullen, Greg Doherty, Michael Masterson, and Conal Gallagher and ladies who helped out with tea and sandwiches. Thanks to St. Naul’s and Bundoran for coming down to the blitz.

The Bord na nÓg welcomes Tír Chonaill Gaels from London this weekend. TCG are taking an U10 and U13 team over to Donegal Town. We host and U10 and U12 blitz on Saturday, starting at 1:30pm and 3pm. U10 teams involved are TCG, Four Masters, St.Nauls, Naomh Ultan, and Buncrana. U12 teams involved are Four Masters, Buncrana, Glenswilly, TCG, and Kilcar.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot €1100 in week 45 of the 2015/16 season draw held in the Abbey Hotel on Monday the 23th of May. Last Sunday’s League game against MacCumhaills was cancelled. Congratulations to the minor team who are the new Division Two League County Champions. They defeated Malin 3-8 to 0-7 on Wednesday, in Killygordon! Great achievement for the lads, well done to the team and management.

The U-14 boys won the Division Two Northern final beating Moville in the final on Wednesday night .They then proceeded to win the county semi final against Naomh Muire in Magheragallon on Sunday.

There was no Jackpot winner this week’s Bunlotto. The winning numbers drawn were 7, 8,18,19, 20. The €50 winners were Sean McCorley, Dungannon; Maura Daly, Bundoran; Siobhan Coughlin, Ardfarna, Bundoran.

The U8s travelled to neighbours Four Masters last Saturday and enjoyed an excellent well organised days football. The U12s played well but were defeated at home by Naomh Columba.

The ladies of Realt Rua got back to winning ways on Sunday morning with an impressive 3-8 to 1-8 victory over Ardara in their first league match. The U14 girls travelled to Donegal Town on Monday evening to play their penultimate league fixture.


Aodh Ruadh did well to overcome a determined Fanad Gaels side in Fr Tierney Park to record their eighth win in succession over league and championship.

The under 14s league campaign ended against Termon on Sunday evening. A big physical Termon team had too much for the Ballyshannon lads. Overall it was a great effort by the boys.

The under 12s travelled to Fintra on Saturday evening and scored two wins. The under 10s travelled to Ardara for a blitz last Saturday. Communions saw the squad travel slightly depleted, but still fielding 24 players.

They will be pulling on the jersey again this Saturday when Melvin Gaels and another team to be confirmed will be the guests in Father Tierney Park for a blitz.

Realt Ruadh had two goals to spare on Ardara on Sunday.

The under 10 girls travelled to Ardara last Saturday for their first blitz of the year. They played three games and had great fun. The Duck Race will take place this Saturday, 28th May at 3pm. Players are asked to have their cards completed and returned over the course of the week. There will be a whole heap of chocolate goodies to be won on the day so come along and enjoy the quack.

The under 14s hurlers travelled to the Cross on Tuesday last to take on top of the table Setanta. We were unable to match the commitment of the Killygordon lads who were really up for the game. A number of our players had played in the Southern Minor Board under 14 football final the previous night and it was clear to see they were still feeling the effects of that game.

Well done to Adam Rami and Eoin Doherty who lined out for the County under 15 development squad at the Ulster Blitz in Garvaghey on Saturday and to Senan Rooney and Nathan Owens-Kelly who played for the county under 14s at the same blitz.

This Friday May 27th Seán Óg's will host a darts exhibition with Jelle Klaasen. The proceeds will go towards extensive surface repair works required at Fr Tierney Park. Both our men's teams recorded good victories over Killybegs on Sunday. Our reserve team put in a great performance and ran out convincing winners. Our seniors had a very tight encounter and gained a big victory with a two point win.

Both teams are away to glenfin on Saturday evening no times confirmed going to press. Hard luck to Ciara McGuire, Leeza Cunningham, Louise Doherty and the County U14 girls team who lost out to a strong Cavan side in the U14A Ulster final on Sunday afternoon.

Hard luck also to our Senior Ladies team who travelled to Dungloe early Sunday morning.

Who without some vital players put on a brave performance and played well against a strong dungloe side. Hard luck to our u14 lads after a very brave performance on sunday evening in O'Donnell Park against a tough Moville team.

Both our u12 boys and girls are in action Wednesday evening the Girls Are home to Ballyshannon throwing in at 7pm in Pairc na Geal.

Well done to Cian Gillespie who won the Skills Competition on Monday last in Páirc Na Gael. Cian now goes on to represent Naomh Columba in the all county Skills Competition in Ballybofey on the 10th of June.

A Child Safety course has been organised in conjunction with Dunfanaghy Golf Club. This course will take place on Friday 3rd June at 7pm in Dunfanaghy Golf Club.


The senior team host Red Hughs at the weekend. The lotto draw took place last Monday evening in the hall. The numbers drawn were 10, 19, 24 and 28. The jackpot was not won. The annual Schools Sports Day will be as usual on the second Tuesday of June - 14th this year again. As always we would be grateful for any volunteers on the day - anyone who would like to help in anyway please contact Bridie Doherty or Margaretta McConigley asap.

The Gaeil Fhánada Cúl Camp will take place this year from July 25th to 29th. All children of primary school age are welcome to take part. Application forms have now arrived and will be given out through schools in the next week or so. Also available from Fiona Shiels.

The U-12 girls had their first game of the year at home to Downings last Friday evening. In what was many of the girls’ first ladies game with Termon they showed huge promise and potential and they won. The more experienced of the team really stood out with Aoife Giles, Bridget Fegan and Sophie Curran shining. Then on Monday they travelled to Milford to take on a strong Milford side. Sisters Edel and Tara McGettigan along with Jenny McGettigan really worked hard to ensure their team another win.

The seniors men lost out to Gaoth Dobhair on Sunday.

Kellys Centra the Mountain Top Letterkenny will be sponsors for both our boys and girls teams that will be representing Donegal at Féile na nÓg at the end of June.

The TOPAZ Cash for Clubs is back for 2016 so we will be seeking your support with this Martin Kelly has arranged two registrations days at the Mountain Top the second this Friday from 12-6pm. Come along and register and every time you top up you can collect point on behalf of Termon GAA club.

All managers and mentors are reminded that the main pitch is closed for the foreseeable future. Alternative arrangements for training and games have been put in place.

The ladies team had a good win against a much improved MacCumhaills side on Sunday. The club table quiz takes place this Friday 27th May in Callaghans of Churchill.

The winner of last week's club lotto was Martin Mongan of Letterkenny who matched 3 numbers. The winning numbers were 8,11,22 and 24. The club lottos are available at all local outlets and from any member of the lotto committee.

The monthly meeting of the club's minor board and general meeting will take place next Monday. Minor board meeting saris at 7.55pm while the general meeting starts at 9pm.
