Donegal bow out of McKenna Cup

A lethargic Donegal failed to qualify for the Dr. McKenna Cup semi-finals after going down to Fermanagh in Brewster Park on Wednesday night.

Fermanagh . . . . . . . 0-12

Donegal . . . . . . . . . . . 0-8

Donegal matched Fermanagh in the opening half and the sides were level at 0-5 each, but in the second half they just didn’t have the penetration and Fermanagh had an ace in Sean Quigley, who hit some fantastic long range frees. He had also also pointed a sideline in the opening half.

The win sees Fermanagh qualify for the Dr. McKenna Cup semi-final this weekend.

Scorers - Fermanagh: Sean Quigley 0-5,4f,s/line; Eoin Donnelly 0-2; Pat Cadden 0-2; Declan McCusker, James McMahon, Ciaran Flaherty 0-1 each.

Donegal - Odhran MacNiallais 0-4, 2f; Michael Murphy (f), Martin O’Reilly, Ciaran Thompson, Ciaran Gillespie 0-1 each.
