Letterkenny Rovers and Finn Harps played out a hard fought 1-1 draw last Saturday afternoon in the Northern Division of the Under 19 Airtricity League played in prefect conditions at Leckview Park.
Letterkenny Rovers 1
Finn Harps 1
It was the Ballybofey outfit who broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Darragh Black who is on the fringes of their senior team found himself one on one against Rovers net minder Jason Quinn and the young Milford native made no mistake from 15 yards out, slipping the ball past a hapless Quinn.
Rovers equaliser was a result of a corner kick just before half time.
Michael Miller crossed a perfect ball into the Finn Harps six yard box, where young Rovers central defender Jack Blake hammered home an unstoppable header past Shaun Patton. Jason Doherty up front for Rovers had the best chance of a winner in the second half but his strike went narrowly wide.
In the end a draw was just about a fair result in a well contested local Donegal derby in the U19 Airtricity League Northern Division. Rovers have no game next week with Harps travelling to top of the table Dundalk.
