Letterkenny Athletic Club’s Ciaran Doherty has come fifth in the final of the 3,000m at the he European Masters Over-35 Indoor Championships.
Doherty, a native of Dungloe, ran a time of 8:43.17 in San Sebastian. The race was dominated by Spaniards in their own back yard. Roberto Sotomayor won the race with 8:33.42, Alberto Martinez was second on 8:33.50 and Fernando Lorenzo third clocking 8:33.79. Norway’s Kristian Nedregård was fourth with 8:39.90.
