Finn Harps made a fine start to the Foyle Cup in the U-19 section with four points from their first two games before their fixture against Ballymoor FC on Wednesday evening.
The Ballybofey club opened with a 4-0 win over Hillsborough Boys FC at Killea on Monday. Harps followed that up with a 1-1 draw against fellow Donegal side Fanad United, who had lost their first game 3-1 against Ballymoor FC at Oakland. Fanad are due to face Hillsborough Boys FC this evening.
Things were not so rosy for Letterkenny Rovers in Section D. At Wilton Park on Monday they went down 1-0 to Ballymena United before another narrow loss at the Vale Centre, 3-2 to the B-Moor Academy. They are due to conclude their group fixtures against Strabane Athletic in Killea on Wednesday evening.
In the U-16 section, Donegal Schoolboys Academy got off to a good start with a 1-0 victory over NECSL on Tuesday at Eglington and are due to play Limavady United FC this evening in Section A. In Section B, Gweedore United went down 2-0 to the Derry & District Youth FA. The Inishowen Youth League, in Section F, started off with a 5-0 win over Ashgrove Juniors in Moville.
The Inishowen Youth League managed a win and a draw from their first couple of outings in the U-15 competition. On Monday at Trojans FC, they won 2-0 against Brandywell Showgrounds and then 24 hours later they were at Templemore Central, drawing 0-0 with Mount Merrion UCD.
The U-14 competition saw both Donegal teams got off to opening day victories on Tuesday. The Donegal Schoolboys Academy won 4-0 against Coleraine at Daisyfield and at Moville, the Inishowen Youth League beat Aramgh City by two goals to nil.
The U-13 tournament also saw the Donegal Schoolboys Academy start well. They enjoyed a 4-0 win over Dergview in Strabane and then a 3-0 win against Limavady United. Last evening they were pencilled in to play the Inishowen Youth League, who had lost 3-0 to Limavady but beat Dergview 3-1.
Donegal Town went down 3-0 to Limavady in the U-12s, while the Inishowen League enjoyed a 2-0 win over Ballyraine-Kilmacrennan. Donegal Schoolboys hammered the Bertie Peacock Youth League and Finn Harps also got off to a free-scoring start, beating Armagh City 4-0.
NW Donegal Youth League won 8-0 against Ballymoney United in the U-11s. Letterkenny-Ballyraine lost 2-1 to Limavady United and the Derry & District YFA hammered the Inishowen Youth League 6-1. Kilmacrennan Celtic, in the U-10 competition, flew from the blocks with a 7-0 win against Bertie Peacock Youth League. Finn Harps Colts drew 1-1 with Carniny Youth, Glencar lost 2-1 to Tristar and there were also losses for Buncrana Hearts and Moville Celtic.
