THERE will be a reduced number of fixtures in the Donegal League on Sunday, February 12 - the day Milford United welcome FAI Junior Cup holders Pike Rovers to Moyle View Park in the last 16 of the competition.
The CT Ball Division Two, which is ahead of schedule due to the mild weather this year compared to the last two, will see no fixtures planned for the day in question.
There are a number clubs from Milford vicinity in the division - Cranford, Whitestrand, Glenree and Kerrykeel - and the day off will enable football people within the area to go and support their neighbours. The Premier Division is also off, while just two fixtures will go ahead in Division One - Dunlewey Celtic v Curragh and Donegal Town v St Catherine’s.
“A lot of clubs have free weekends and with Milford doing so well it’s great to give people the opportunity to come out and support not only Milford but Donegal,” league secretary Christina O’Donnell said. “Milford did a great job hosting the last round against Athenry and it was a great occasions, just like the visit of Pike Rovers will be.”
