Seamus Coleman has been excluded from Everton’s squad for this evening’s FA Cup fourth round tie at Stevenage through injury.
The 25-year-old limped off during the 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday and has sustained a minor soft tissue injury and officials from the Goodison Park club hope to have Coleman back for the Merseyside derby with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday.
The former St Catherine’s player was this week named as Everton’s player of the month, for December. It’s the second time Coleman has won the award having picked it up previously in November 2010.
Coleman scored in Everton’s 4-0 third round win over Queen’s Park Rangers and his absence today will mean he fails to start for the first time this season under the management of Roberto Martinez. Killybegs native Coleman looks set to be replaced by either John Stones or Tony Hibbert against Graham Westley’s side.
The match is live on BT Sport, kicking-off at 5:30pm.
