There was another injury scare for Donegal ahead of their Ulster final with midfielder Neil Gallagher taken to hospital with an ankle injury after Glenswilly’s game with Kilcar yesterday evening.
Gallagher had to retire injured with the injury after just two minutes and there will be an anxious wait to see if he has done significant damage.
Kilcar won the game by 1-11 to 0-8 with Patrick McBrearty an absentee for the south-west men.
Leo McLoone hit three goals for Naomh Conaill as they defeated Gaoth Dobhair by 3-12 to 1-9 in Magheragallon. Martin Regan, Naomh Conaill and Michael McKelvey were shown red cards. All the county panellists, bar the injured Neil McGee, lined out at Magheragallon.
In Dungloe a late goal from Mark Sweeney saw the home side win by 2-11 to 2-9 against St. Eunan’s, who were minus Rory Kavanagh. Sweeney has just returned from Australia and the win was a vital win for Dungloe.
In the Junior Championship there was an exciting contest in Dunkineely with the home side, Naomh Ultan, defeating Red Hugh’s with a late point from Dermot Gallier in added time. Declan Murrin was really impressive for the winners.
