Termon made light of the winter weather to lift the Karen McGlynn Memorial Cup at the Burn Road on Saturday.
The locals had a full compliment of players for the final meeting with Milford in what was a repeat of last season’s county minor final.
In the decider it took a late Emer Gallagher goal to scupper Milford hopes, but on Saturday Termon ran out easy winners to lift the cup for the sixth time since the tournament stated in 2002. The competition is run in memory of Karen McGlynn.
Harry McGlynn on behalf of the McGlynn family presented the memorial Cup to joint Termon captain’s Petra McCafferty and Geraldine McLaughlin.
Ironically, as this was a carry over from 2011, this was Geraldine McLaughlin, Petra McCafferty and Niamh Callaghan’s last game in the maroon and white at minor level. In the Shield section St. Michael’s had a close win over St. Eunan’s who went down by a narrow margin despite conceding early scores to a Maria Carr-led St Michael’s.
