AN TEARMAINN: Congratulations to Meabh McDaid and Lauren McIlwaine who were both selected on the Donegal U-14 panel, Lauren has also been appointed joint team captain. Congratulations also to Holly McDaid who was selected for the Donegal U-16 panel.
The finals of the Karen McGlynn competition were played on Saturday evening. Despite the inclement weather the competition was completed with Termon defeating a gallant Milford in the final and St Michael’s overcoming St Eunan’s in the shield final. Afterwards, Harry McGlynn, on behalf of the McGlynn family, presented the Karen McGlynn trophy to joint Termon captains Geraldine Mc Laughlin and Petra McCafferty.
Congratulations to Geraldine McLaughlin, who received the Donegal Secondary School Girls’ award and Mel O’Donnell, Kilmacrenan, who received the Primary School teacher award at the Donegal Sports Star awards on Friday night .

Minor Board: All U-12 and U-14 new players are welcome in those age groups, any queries contact either PJ McFadden on 086-8641159 or Bernard Gallagher on 087-6949165. The Lotto draw took place in the Lagoon, Termon on Friday last. The winning numbers were 5, 6, 8 and 22. There was no Jackpot winner. There were three winners in the open draw: Hugh Rodden, Charlie Boyle and Sarh Kho, won €10 each. Next week’s draw takes place in McClafferty’s, Churchill. Paul Doherty and Patrick and Essie McGrenra are the co-ordinators. The jackpot now is €1650.
Congratulations to former club member James Harkin on winning the Club Person of the year at the Chloich Cheann Fhaola GAA dinner dance at the weekend. The Burn Road pitch will now be closed until March 25 to allow for routine maintenance.

Congratulations to Packie Maguire, who was elected as an honorary vice president of CLG Ard an Ratha on Saturday at the AGM. Packie replaces his friend the late Billy Maxwell in the position alongside John Keeney. Frankie Brennan was returned as club president. Peter McLoughlin of Clogher was elected as the new club treasurer in what was the only change on the committee.
A First Aid course will take place on February 8 and 15 in the club. Those interested in taking part should contact Mary McHugh - 087-6878614.
BUNDORAN: We had are reconvened AGM on Sunday and long-time serving player James Keaney has taken up the post as chairman of the club in are new look committee with the executive consisting of Johnny and James Keenan Paul McGee, James Keaney, Geraldine, Pat and Ryan Walsh, Joan and John McEniff, Bosco Moohan, Philomena Granaghan and Brian McEniff. Applications for the senior reserve and U-21 teams are extended until Friday, February 3, at 12 noon for all interested. The club will host a ‘Creating Sustainable Club Coaching Structures’ workshop this evening, Thursday, at 8pm in the Abbey Hotel. It is very important that all club officers, team managers and coaches involved in football, hurling, camogie and ladies football attend this 90-minute workshop that will shape our coaching structures for the years ahead.
Bord na nOg and the ladies board are hosting a table quiz in Dom’s Pier One tomorrow night, Friday, at 9pm in aid of our underage football, hurling, ladies football and camogie teams. Entry is €5 per person or a table of four for €20 payable on the night. Vouchers sponsored by Dom’s Pier 1 will be presented to the winning team.
The ladies board is hosting their annual underage presentation evening this Sunday afternoon in Dom’s Pier 1 at 4pm. A meal will be served to our underage players followed by a disco. The annual dinner and presentation of club awards for 2011 will take place on Saturday, February 18,in Dom’s Pier 1 at 7.30 pm sharp. Tickets are on sale now priced at €20 from Sean Dunnion, Paul Timoney, Michael Martin and Maria Gorrell.
GAEIL LEITIR CEANAINN: A meeting will be held in Church of Irish Martyrs meeting room on Sunday at 7pm to discuss development of girls gaelic and camogie. All parents are encouraged to attend. Underage registrations will take place at the community rooms at the Church of the Irish Martyrs on Thursday, February 9, February from 7.30-9.30pm.
Our finance committee have come up with a novel idea, where individuals or families can sponsor a block in our new clubhouse. GLEANN FHINNE: There was no outright winner of last week’s lotto jackpot. The winning numbers drawn were 3, 6, 1, 2, 5, 7 and 4. Clg Ghleann Fhinne annual dinner dance will take place on Saturday, February 18, in the Villa Rose. Tickets priced at €25 are now on sale. The club held a very successful AGM last Tuesday evening in the sports centre.
The chairman congratulated the ladies on their memorable achievement in winning their first senior title and on reaching the Ulster final. He also congratulated the third team on winning Division Five of the All-County County Football League. He also said that the underage structure within the club was in great shape. The cisteoir gave a very detailed account of the club’s financial position and congratulated all those who had made the fund raising draw a success.

NAOMH CONAILL: There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 1, 4, 15 and 28. Two prizes of €50 went to Charles Melly, Gortnasillagh, Glenties, and Fiona Boyle, Main Street, Glenties. Next week’s jackpot is €3,200.

There will be a referees beginners course on Saturday at 9.30am, a referees’ refreshers course on Thursday, February 16, at 7.30pm and an umpires course on Wednesday, February 29, at 7.30pm. NAOMH MHUIRE: The annual Bord na nOg presentations took place on Sunday evening. Gary Boyle, the youth officer, outlined the year that was and the great attitude which is part of the under-age set up. He thanked the coaches and parents for all the help and support. Gary spoke about how hard work now was the most important factor in our youth and the work was showing at all levels. Award winners on the night were U-12 player of year - Declan Ward, U-14 player of the year - Daniel Devlin, U-16 player of the year - James Ferry, U-18 player of the year - Dara White. Achievement awards to Shane Gillespie and Shaun Burns. Thanks to Adi O’Gara and Marty Boyle, Naomh Conaill and Donegal Senior team, who presented the awards. Thanks to all for attending and helping out.
The county U-16 trials are taking place and a number of girls are currently attending these sessions. Scór Sinsear dates yet to be finalised but anyone interested in representing the club, please make contact with Seamus Mac Ruairí.

The 25 Card Drive continues every Thursday in Mary Murrin’s Bar at 9pm. The majority of managerial positions have been filled over the last month, leaving just two currently vacant. NA ROSSA: The club congratulates Aidan Bonner on being appointed as club chairman for the coming year and also Mary Ellen Green as treasurer. The club would like to thank out going chairman Des McGettigan for his commitment and work over the last three years and also to outgoing treasurers Michael McGill and Niall McMonagle for their valuable contribution over their terms.
Congratulations also to John McDyre, Christian Bonner, Adam McHugh and man of the match Ethen O’Donnell, who were part of the St Columba’s U-16 basketball team who won the All-Ireland title last Wednesday in Dublin after defeating Setanta College from Meath in a very exciting final, 25-23.

The senior footballers play Ogra Colmcille, Derry, in the Ulster Intermediate League on Sunday at 2pm. The U-8’s will play a match before thesenior game. Bus leaves for U-8’s at 10.15am. ST MICHAEL’S: Club membership is now due and should be paid to club Register Neil McGinley as soon as possible. Membership can also be paid in the Creeslough and Dunfanaghy Post Office. Membership is €20 per person and €50 per family.
The finals of the St Michael’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will be held in the Clubhouse in Dunfanaghy on one night over the St Patrick’s Weekend in March.
There was no jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 6, 9, 14 and 15. The winner of the €150 on the snowball game at the Bingo in Dunfanaghy on Sunday night last was Mary Langan Creeslough. This week’s Snowball at the Bingo Session in Dunfanaghy at 8pm in the Ozanam Community Centre will be €2,450 on 45 numbers or less.
