Deaths in Donegal - Friday evening, August 10, 2018

The Donegal Democrat has been informed of the following deaths:

- Jim Laughlin, 74 Glenwood Park, Letterkenny

- Patrick Taylor née Lynch, Tuam, Co Galway and formerly of Donegal and Birmingham

- Molly Norton daughter of Tim and Doreen Norton, The Turn House, Ballyherron, Fanad

- Mary Clinton, Letter, Fahan and formerly Sheepland, Ardglass, Co. Down

- Gretta Donnelly, 14 Westhill, Letterkenny

- Ellen Gorman late of Carnmalin, Malin Head

- Mary Melly, née O’Brien, formerly of Manger, Belleek, and late of Rockfield Close, Belleek, County Fermanagh

- Micheál Davitt, Inish Temple, Kinlough, County Leitrim

Jim Laughlin, 74 Glenwood Park, Letterkenny

The sudden death has taken place at his late residence of Jim Laughlin, 74 Glenwood Park, Letterkenny.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Saturday, August 11 at 5pm going to his daughter Carrie’s residence 9 Windmill View, Glencar, Letterkenny.

Funeral on Monday, August 13 at 10am in St Eunan’s Cathedral.

Interment afterwards to Conwal Cemetery.

Family time please from 11pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Donegal Alzheimer’s Association c/o any family member.

Patrick Taylor née Lynch, Tuam, Co Galway and formerly of Donegal and Birmingham

The death has taken place of Patricia Taylor née Lynch, Bell House, Dunmore Road, Tuam, County Galway, formerly of Lifford, County Donegal and Northfield, Birmingham.

Remains reposing at her late residence tomorrow evening, Saturday, August 11 from 6pm until 8pm.

Private removal on Sunday afternoon, August 12 going to the Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam, for Funeral Mass at 12.30pm.

Cremation afterwards in Shannon Crematorium at 3.30pm.

Molly Norton daughter of Tim & Doreen Norton, The Turn House, Ballyherron, Fanad

The death has occurred in Galway University Hospital of Molly Norton daughter of Tim and Doreen Norton, The Turn House, Ballyherron, Fanad.

Remains reposing at her late residence.

Funeral service on Saturday, August 11, at 2pm in Christ the Redeemer Church, Rossnakill with burial afterwards in the adjoining burial ground.

House private please – family and friends welcome.

Family flowers only donations if desired to the Donegal Animal Rehabilitation Centre, c/o Sweeney Funeral Directors, Milford.

Mary Clinton, Letter, Fahan and formerly Sheepland, Ardglass, Co. Down

The death has occurred at Nazareth House, Fahan, of Mary Clinton, Letter, Fahan and formerly Sheepland, Ardglass, Co. Down.

Remains reposing at Nazareth House, viewing Friday, August 10, from 10am to 3pm followed by Requiem Mass at 3.30pm.

Interment afterwards in Burt Cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers if desired to Nazareth House, Fahan, c/o Murphy Funeral Directors.

Gretta Donnelly, 14 Westhill, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Gretta Donnelly, 14 Westhill, Letterkenny.

House strictly private at the request of the deceased.

Funeral on Saturday, August 11 at 11am in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny.

Interment afterwards to New Leck Cemetery.

Ellen Gorman late of Carnmalin, Malin Head

The death has taken place at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Ellen Gorman late of Carnmalin, Malin Head.

Remains reposing at her residence.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning,  August 11 at 10.30am for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass in the Star of the Sea Church, Malin Head, followed by burial in Lagg Cemetery.

Family time please from 10pm until 10am.

Micheál Davitt, Inish Temple, Kinlough, County Leitrim

The death has occurred, suddenly at Sligo University Hospital, of Micheál Davitt, Inish Temple, Kinlough, County Leitrim, and formerly Boyle, County Roscommon, and London.

Remains reposing today at Our Lady’s Hospital Chapel, Manorhamilton, from 5pm to 7pm with removal to the Church of the Annunciation, Mullies, to arrive at 7.30pm. Funeral mass on Saturday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
