It was standing room only the Cathedral Hall in Raphoe on Friday night as Raphoe ABC hosted the clubs annual Billy ‘Spider’ Kelly Memorial tournament.
In all there were 15 bouts on the night with six no decision exhibition bouts and nine fully contested and highly competitive and entertaining bouts. At the end of the night Irish ladies champions Caroline Connolly picked up the Billy ‘Spider’ Kelly Memorial Award with the fighter of the nigh award going to John Sweeney, who made a successful return to the ring after a three-year lay-off. The award winners were selected Clr Frank McBrearty and former champion boxer.
