It will be cloudy today with outbreaks of showery rain, which will be heavy at times with a risk of thunder. Met Éireann forecast that the rain will fall as sleet for a time over higher ground in the west and northwest where it will be cold with highs of just 3 to 5 Celsius. Milder elsewhere with highs of 6 to 10 Celsius, mildest in the southeast. Northeast winds will be moderate to fresh with strong winds at times near the west coast.
Again mostly cloudy overnight with further outbreaks of rain, falling as sleet for a time in places, especially on higher ground. Drier conditions with clear spells and scattered showers will develop in the west before morning. Lows of 1 to 4 Celsius in moderate to fresh and gusty north to northeast winds, which will be strong at times near the west and north coasts.
Tomorrow will see a clearance with sunny spells and scattered showers will spread from the west to remaining parts on Wednesday morning. The showers will die out as the afternoon wears on Highs of 4 to 7 Celsius but feeling much colder in a moderate to fresh and gusty northerly wind. Winds will be strong for a time near windward coasts.
