Poor Farmers

The Ardara Poor Farmers Association present cheques to the benefiting charities following their auction event.

The Ardara Poor Farmers Association came up trumps again as they presented a total of €30,000 to be divided between different charities.

It follows a fantastic event back in December when a three hour marathon auction proved such a tremendous success.

Up for auction at Teague's Bar in Ardara was everything from sheep, hay, straw, turf, logs and believe it or not, several pairs of of shoes and boots donated from the crowd on the night - people literally giving the shoes off their feet to a great cause.

The Ardara Poor Farmers have presented cheques to Cancer Care West, The Ardara Defibrilator fund, and the rehab of Steven McGowan and Mickey Joe McMonagle who were involved in serious accidents in the past year.

A big well done to all involved.
