Delight as first cheque is presented for the Donegal town-based St. Agnes Day Centre bus

St. Agnes Day Centre in Donegal town has been the subject of very favourable attention in our newspaper after Olga Gilliland along with many volunteers and services users joined her in the 10K run recently at the Cara Bundoran Challenge.
This was a fundraising event by the St. Agnes Committee to raise much needed funds for the purchase of a new bus for the centre which would greatly enhance the quality of life for the service users.
To date the committee have raised an amazing €30,000 and today received their first cheque to the value of €1,000 from Harvey's Point Hotel presented to them by the hotel's General Manager Noel Cunningham and Financial Controller, Michael Cullinane.
The Donegal town Credit Union have also donated €15,000, Cara Pharmacy €5,000 and the committee themselves have raised almost €8,000 from other sponsorship and individual donations.
Expressing delight at the success to date, Olga Gilliland said: "It's been incredible so far - we are over half way there at this stage and have been greatly encouraged by the generosity of the whole community."
