At this week's meeting of the Donegal Municipal District the ongoing issue of Fintra Bridge was raised once again.
Cllr. Noel Jordan introduced a motion proposing that the road become part of the national road network as it was nothing but an “obstacle to growth” at present.
Cllr. Jordan highlighted the amount of heavy duty and commercial traffic, the growing local traffic and the normal residential users and said that with the number of bends and stop go systems it was just not fit for purpose.
“It is also an obstacle to the further growth of one of Donegal's other hidden treasures - Glencolmcille.”
Cllr. Niamh Kennedy seconded the motion and said that this was essential.
