Well done to pupils and staff at Loreto Letterkenny, who organised a fantastic Movember Mannequin Challenge in aid of Donegal Community Counselling Services.

Mary McFadden, and English teacher at the all-girl school, told the Democrat, "We did not let the fact that we are ladies get in the way of getting involved in Movember! Where there is a will, there is a way."

The star teachers of this project were Seamus Quinn and Chris Callaghan, who grew beards and raised funds during the month of November.

On December 1st, Transition Year students and staff joined them for a Mannequin Challenge by posing with mental health promotion signs and fake moustaches.

More Transition and Third Year students were on hand to manage the crowd and the filming, and it was a great success.

The filming of the video was followed up by the shaving of the beards, under the watchful eye of Gerry Mc Keever from Gerry’s Barbers in Letterkenny and some of the students even got to do some shaving!

Ms McFadden explained the motivation behind the initiative, "The hope is that this video will go viral over social media and create awareness about mental health and Donegal Community Counselling Services.
