Keith Higgins with Rosses CS students
All-star Mayo footballer Keith Higgins visited Rosses Community School on Friday as part of his job with the Bank of Ireland.
During his visit, Keith completed three, 40-minute training sessions with three of the schools’ Gaelic football teams.
He started off with the school’s lady footballers, who turned up in big numbers. Then it was the turn of the U-14 boys, who were taken through some drills and games. Lastly, Keith worked with the U-16 boys team.
He gave many tips during his sessions, as well as advice that the players can take away and use during their training and game preparation.
Keith also held question-and-answer sessions with the players that addressed many topics, from All-Ireland final tactics, to the most difficult opponents he faced over the years.
Students and staff also had their pictures taken with Keith as well.
The All-Star and Mayo inter-county footballer was very modest and had a good way with the students. Rosses Community School would like to thank Keith and the Bank of Ireland for their time.
