Despite the fact that Donegal is no longer involved in the championship the children and indeed the adults of the Rosses showed that the lads in green and gold are every bit as popular as the day they brought home Sam.
More than 400 people gathered to give a massive welcome at Rosses Park to Michael Murphy, Eamon McGee and Colm Anthony McFadden (pictured here with some of the young children) who came along to present the underage teams of Na Rossa, Naomh Mhuire, Dungloe and Gweedore with their 'Kits for Kids' which is sponsored every year by SuperValu.
Liam McShea of SuperValu said, “There is no doubt that the future of football is very secure in Donegal - the crowd here today has been massive, so much so that we had to move out of the clubhouse to the pitch to accommodate everybody.
“The interest is still very much alive and people are already talking about next season. Its really great to see it.”
