The sad and sudden passing of James Hegarty has left Ardara and many parts of Donegal in shock this week.
30-year-old James died yesterday (Wednesday) morning after a very brief illness, borne with such great courage.
In the 40 days since he was diagnosed with cancer, James, son of John and Eileen Hegarty, Tullycleave, Ardara, was intent on using whatever time given to him in a positive way.
Just over two weeks ago, he married his long-term girlfriend, Dairine, and they enjoyed a great day with friends in Nancy's in Ardara and a honeymoon in Bushmills.
James has a great lust for life and really enjoyed other people's company. Even though his life was cut short, he had a very long list of loyal friends, built up over the years.
A former Ardara and Letterkenny Gaels player, he was a devoted Liverpool fan.
After graduating from Letterkenny IT, he lived in Letterkenny where he was employed by River Media as a Graphic Designer.
His funeral will take place in Ardara on Friday at 1 p.m. James is survived by his wife Dairine; parents John and Eileen; brothers Ronan, Pauric and partner Lorraine; niece Eabha; grandfather, John Hegarty (Kilcar); aunts, uncles and a host of relatives and friends.
