Longest wait to do driving test in the north west is in Donegal

Learners drivers in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim have to wait on average almost 12 weeks before they can sit their driving test according to new RSA figures.

Buncrana drivers have the longest wait of all in the region where the average wait time is 19 weeks.

Only Sligo is below the national average of ten weeks with a waiting time of 9.3 weeks.

Donegal Town test centre shows an average wait time of 15.6 weeks with one person having to wait 21 weeks. Carrick on Shannon test centre has an average of an 11 week wait and the longest someone was delayed is 22 weeks.

Elsewhere in the country RSA figures found some drivers are waiting as long as 25 weeks to take their test.
