Gardaí in Donegal arrested a total of 13 people from midnight on Friday until today as a result of suspected drug and drink driving over the busy bank holiday weekend.
A garda source said that it has been a 'very busy weekend.'
Twelve people were arrested for suspected drunk driving and one driver was arrested and processed for suspected drug driving over the course of St Patrick's day weekend which spanned from March 15 until Monday, March 18
Earlier last week, senior gardaí urged people to drive with caution over the weekend.
The number of recorded offences for people driving without a safety belt and driving whilst on their mobile phone has also increased this year.
