Deaths in Donegal, Thursday morning, March 7

The Donegal Democrat has been informed of the following deaths:

- Marian Tighe, Burnfoot

- Billy Wilkie, Drumatoland, St Johnston

- Margaret Waugh, Drimagra, Frosses

- Martin Giblin, 44 Ashlawn, Letterkenny and formally of Buncrana

- Madge McGee (Nee McHugh) formally from Killult Falcarragh

- Margaret King (née Doohan) Errislannan, Clifden, Galway and Falcarragh

- Bríd Kavanagh, Dublin and Falcarragh

- Michael Bernard Kelly, Kerrykeel

- Sean Tolan, Carrigart

Marian Tighe, Drumadoey, Burnfoot

The sudden death has taken place of Marian Tighe, Drumadoey, Burnfoot.

Her remains are reposing at Murphy’s Funeral Home with viewing times on Thursday from 4pm-9pm; Friday from 4pm to 6.45pm.

Removal at 6.45pm to St Mura’s Church, Fahan to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Billy Wilkie, Drumatoland, St Johnston

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Billy Wilkie, Drumatoland, St Johnston.

His remains are reposing at his residence.

Funeral from there on Saturday, March 9 at 2pm, for service in Ray Presbyterian Church, with burial afterwards in the family plot in the adjoining churchyard. 

Margaret Waugh, Drimagra, Frosses

The death has taken place at the Donegal Community Hospital, Donegal town of Margaret Waugh, Drimagra, Frosses.  

Reposing at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Cath Waugh, Drimagra, Frosses, on Thursday from 2pm to 10pm. 

Removal on Friday  for 11am Funeral Mass in the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Frosses, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 3pm. House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Donegal Community Hospital, Donegal town, c/o of any family member or John McGowan Funeral Director. 

A one-way system will operate at the wake house. Entry at Meennagra on the Frosses to Glenties Road and exit at Secleis crossroads Drimarone.

Martin Giblin, 44 Ashlawn, Letterkenny and formerly of Buncrana

The death has occurred of Martin Giblin, 44 Ashlawn, Letterkenny and formerly of Buncrana.

Martin’s remains are reposing at his late residence.

Funeral from there on Friday going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine for Requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in New Leck Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations if wished to the Donegal Hospice or the Irish Heart Foundation c/o Paschal Blake Funeral Directors, Stoney Arch, New Line Road, Letterkenny.

Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Madge McGee (nee McHugh) formerly from Killult, Falcarragh

The death has taken place in Glasgow of Madge McGee (née Mc Hugh) formerly of Killult, Falcarragh.

Her remains will repose at her son John's house in Upper Killult on Friday evening at 6.30pm. Rosary on Friday night will be at 10pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday going to Christ the King Church, Gortahork for 12 noon requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Margaret King (née Doohan) Errislannan, Clifden, Galway and Falcarragh 

The death has occurred of Margaret King (née Doohan) Errislannan, Clifden, Galway and Falcarragh.

Reposing at the Chapel of Rest, Ballyconneely on Thursday, March 7 from 5pm until 8pm with removal to The Church of The Holy Family, Ballyconneely afterwards.

Funeral Mass on Friday, March 8 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in St. Flannan’s Cemetery, Errislannan. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Friends of Fatima Hospital, Clifden.

Bríd Kavanagh (née Kelly), Palmerstown, Dublin and Falcarragh 

The death has taken place of Bríd Kavanagh (née Kelly), Palmerstown, Dublin and formerly of Falcarragh.

Her remains will repose at T.L.C Nursing Home, Straffan on Thursday evening from 6-8pm.

Removal to St. Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown on Friday morning arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in Palmerstown Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations if desired to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. 

Michael Bernard Kelly, St. Bridget’s Terrace, Kerrykeel

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Michael Bernard Kelly, St. Bridget’s Terrace, Kerrykeel.

Remains reposing at his late residence. 

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Thursday, March 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kerrykeel followed by interment afterwards in Milford Cemetery.

House Private from 11pm to 10am and on the morning of the funeral.

Sean Tolan, Carrigart and formerly Rooskey, Foxford, Co Mayo

The death has taken place at Galway University Hospital of Sean Tolan, Carrigart and formerly Rooskey, Foxford, Co Mayo. Sean was a retired member of An Garda Síochána.

Remains reposing at his family residence. 

Removal from there on Thursday to the Church of St John the Baptist for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time on the morning of the funeral.
