This year's Donegal Rose will feature in TV final

Donegal's 2018 Rose Niamh Ní Dhubhgain with Dáithí Ó Shéa

The Rose of Tralee International Festival will celebrate 60 years in 2019 and not only will the next Donegal Rose be there, she will feature in the TV final which will be broadcast from the Dome on RTÉ.
In a new departure, to ensure that every Rose enjoys the ultimate positive experience during her year as her region’s ambassador, the festival organisers have revamped the selection process by removing the regional qualification process.
From 2019, each centre would select a Rose bi-annually, such that 32 Roses will be hosted in Tralee annually to enjoy everything that Ireland’s flagship family festival has to offer – parades, gala functions, entertainment, televised Rose selection nights, a Rose Tour and much more.
Roses representing Kerry, Cork and Dublin will continue to be selected every year while a Rose will represent Donegal every second year from 2019.
The search for the 2019 Rose of Tralee has begun with entries already being submitted via www.roseoftralee.ie/apply. The Rose of Tralee International Festival will celebrate 60 Years from Friday, August 16 to Tuesday 20 .
This year’s Donegal Rose Selection takes place on Saturday April 13 in the Central Hotel, Donegal town in association with R McCullagh Jewellers. Interested applicants must be over age 18 and not have reached age 29 by September 2019.
It has been confirmed that the Reigning Rose of Tralee Kirsten Mate Maher will be attending the Selection evening.
Tickets to attend the selection are available online or from any Roses entering the selection.
